I grew up listening to Skip call Atlanta Hawks games on 750 radio. I even have a couple games recorded for posterity. He will definitely be missed!

I started listening to the Braves the year they went from "Worst to First" and have been a loyal fan ever since. Skip added a special flair to his broadcasts that no one has able to emulate. He and Don Sutton together were absolutely hilarious.
He will be sorely missed by so many people, especially me. "GODSPEED SKIP".

Over the past couple years I have not been able to watch the braves on television. I knew about Skip, but never really listened to him. When I started listening to the Braves on the radio, I could not stop listening to Skip Caray.
The unique way that he broadcasted the games just kept me listening and I would laugh a lot too. Skip will always be my favorite announcer for any sport and will always be loved and missed dearly.

Growing up watching TBS and trying to tune in a very weak AM signal, only at night, just to listen to the quick wit and humor that Skip brought to every game. Some of the best times were when the game took back burner and he would go off on a side note for about 3 or 4 innings, ranging from traffic on GA 400 to cartoons. You never knew what was going to happen and that is why we tuned in. Now living in St Louis with only great memories of the three I came to love...Harry, Jack and Skip...you are all missed but never forgotten.

Thanks Skip, I can still remember being a little guy listening to you and Ernie Sr. The strikes and steroids took much of the fun out of baseball for me,but I rarely missed a game on the radio because of you. Just as Stan "the Man" was to you, you were one of my childhood heroes and I will miss you.

I am not really a Braves fan, I pull for the Rays here in St. Pete, but I always admired Skips broadcast style, and enjoyed listening to him on the radio as I traveled. Skip never found it necessary to fill every second of the broadcast with unnecessary dialogue; rather, he would let the sounds of the game come through. I really like that aspect of his talent, it made you feel like you were at the game. Skips opinionated personality upset me on occasion, as he complained about the St. Pete area, and playing ball in a dome during interleague play, but to each his own. He was (is) one of the most recognizable voices in baseball, kind of a polar opposite of his dad in style, and I send my regards to his family and the Braves Nation. JFK

I'm retired Navy. I've been through a lot in my life, but no matter how good or bad things were I knew I could always look forward to watching the Braves on TBS and here Skip Caray commentaries on baseball and sometimes life. While I never personally never knew Skip, When I would hear his voice at 7:35 pm on TBS I would smile as if an old friend had just entered the room. I'll miss hearing him say Braves Win, Braves Win, The Braves Win! God Bless you Skip, we will miss you!

What a wonderful announcer! Even more than that, he was loyal to the Braves through the good times and the bad. What I liked about him was that he gave it to us straight. If they were good, he told us so. If they were bad, he told us that too. Skip shot straight from the hip and Atlantans appreciated him for the courage to say what we all were thinking. To his family and especially to his son Chip: what a legacy you have! While I know what it's like to lose your father, I know that you must miss him dearly. But remember that you MUST carry on the legacy. And know that your dad and granddad are now having the time of their lives. May you and your family be comforted during this time. All of America will remember him forever. Skip wins, Skip wins, Skip wins!!!

I have enjoyed watching Braves baseball for many years. To me, Skip Caray was the voice of the braves. He was knowledgeable, impassioned, honest, and had a great sense of humor. I will miss him greatly.
